Finally some good conditions at the motorplex meant a good turnout and pb’s all round
Starting with Junior’s VE, It come to us previously fitted with a camshaft and blower and a pb of 11.89, with a camshaft change and a re-tune he blasted down the track to a 10.9@125mph Although unintentional Junior joined the growing list of Active’s 10 second VE’s, as it sits Junior's car is a VE SS L98 with a small camshaft, Harrop 112 blower 3.7 diff gears with a stock A6, stock converter and on 18 inch street radials to clear his upgraded brakes, it is his every day car and with only a rear tyre change a 10 second street weapon.

Dave’s WH Caprice another everyday car this heavy weight was set up for family comfort with a nice camshaft and a tight converter with a set of 3.9 diff gears his previous pb was 12.1 on his 19 inch street wheels, he bolted on some radials and managed to run a new pb of 11.9
Jason’s VE GTS LS2 has a slightly smaller cam then we normally run in our LS2s but with a high stall, Russo OTR and 3.7 diff gears this is an unassuming weapon, his huge burnouts wowed the crowd but his consistency paid off as he won the OZ EFI class with a pb of 11.7
John’s VZ Clubsport with a cam package and converter managed a 12.0 on his everyday 19 inch tyres with his standard diff gears
Paul’s VE Clubsport another 11 second Active cammed VE consists of our 2b cam package with Russo Otr, and high stall with stock diff gears, he was pinned for no harness after running an 11.54 on his 18 inch radials
Finally after all the R&D that’s gone into my GTO recently some positive results...After over 60 pulls on the engine dyno doing R&D we went to the western nationals last week with high hopes but first pass the reluctor wheel failed leaving a sour taste in our mouth, We pulled the crank out changed the reluctor and used some preventative means of making sure it does not happen again!!
Anyway first pass resulted in a 9.30@148 mph but the additional hp caused the car to run out of gearing for those who don’t know the E40 computer reads to 8192rpm (the tacho reads 8220) then stops......Well some cool in car footage shows the shift light come on at about 800 feet at 8200rpm at that point the tacho could not read anymore although the rpm kept building, long story short way beyond were the engine makes its peak power so with some new gearing and possibly a converter change we should see the car closer to where I want it to be although being a heavy car (over 3600lbs without driver) it’s been a struggle although I’m determined not to pull weight out of the car
For those that don’t know the car is a VZ GTO with a 455ci N/A LSX topped by ET Canted valve heads and twin 2000cfm throttle bodies, a powerglide transmission and IRS rear end and a hidden ANDRA spec cage
